Ideas to learn English with effort.
I know that this title is not very popular. Probably people are looking for something like “Ideas to learn English without effort”. If you are looking for a way to learn English without effort you can stop reading this article, this is just about the opposite. Nevertheless I think you can find here some useful advice to get as much benefit as possible out of your work.
I studied English when I was at the school, and I studied only one subject related to English in my degree. In all this years I didn’t have to speak English, I didn’t have to do any speaking or listening exams nor did I have to do any pieces of text. Sounds weird but it was the way that languages were taught at school fifteen years ago.  When I finished university I wasn’t able to speak or to write in English, which is a pity.
A year ago I decided to learn English. I studied hard for one year. And in five months I did PET, FCE and CAE, which are only certificates but a good objective and a good way to measure your improvement. When I went to an English class again I started to see how the learning of languages has changed recently. I really like new technologies and in my opinion they are an incredible way to teach and to learn. During this year I decided to change my learning habits in order to take advantage of all these new opportunities. Let me show you some of them.

Learning through the medium of a mobile phone you can use some of the time you usually spend waiting for a friend in a cafe, waiting in a shop to be served, walking along the road, or travelling on a bus or on a train. Mobile devices are not only a phone or a tablet but also a powerful computer with a small size. I am going to talk about some applications I think are really useful. Most of the applications I refer to are Apple based software. But some of them can be run using other operative systems or you could find equivalent applications on other platforms.

APPLICATIONS FOR LEARNING VOCABULARY…

Provoc: Provoc is a training app, that will help you to learn vocabulary quickly and efficiently. It’s not a mobile application but you can use it to add the words to the software and to transfer data to your mobile phone later. It was created by Arizon Software who released the code under the BSD license from the Bitbucket repository. This made possible for other companies to create their own software based on Provoc files. It’s free and it’s only for Mac, but I am sure that it’s not difficult to find similar software for Windows or Linux. In this article I suggest a couple of mobile applications that can be used with Provoc.
